Every JOYSONS knit has a permanent care label sewn inside. Follow that label first. This guide adds the small habits that keep cashmere, wool-cashmere and wool soft and in shape for years.

Find your knit

Your style number is on the first page of the care label, after STYLE. Look it up in the style index below; it is sorted by style number, and the newest knits follow by name.

Everyday care

For cashmere, wool-cashmere and wool knits:

  • Hand wash cold with a gentle wool detergent, or dry clean.
  • Squeeze the water out gently. Don't wring or twist.
  • Reshape and dry flat, away from direct heat and sunlight.
  • Store folded to keep its shape.

Detailed pieces

For knits with embroidery, appliqués, crochet trim, ornamental detailing or a zip:

  • Check the care label sewn into the piece before washing.
  • Close the zip and turn the knit inside out before hand washing.
  • Don't iron over embroidery, appliqués or trim.

Yak

Care for yak as you would for cashmere: hand wash cold with a gentle wool detergent, or dry clean, then reshape and dry flat. Follow the care label sewn into the piece.

Between wears

  • Give a knit a day's rest between wears so the fibres recover.
  • Fold rather than hang. Hanging stretches the shoulders.
  • Soft natural fibres can pill at first. Lift pills gently by hand or with a cashmere comb; it settles with wear.
  • Store clean and folded in a breathable bag, with cedar to help keep moths away.
